What's Happening Around Avon & Across Ohio: Late October & Early November 2026

A warm late-October evening in a growing Ohio suburb, a community fall festival with glowing jack-o'-lanterns, string lights, vendor canopies and hay bales along a park path, new two-story homes and maples turning orange and gold in the dusk light
PLATE 01, FESTIVAL SEASON ACROSS OHIO

Late October is when Ohio's festival calendar goes full tilt. The Renaissance Festival near Waynesville is in its final three weekends, haunted mazes are open from Mason to Clermont County, the Cincinnati Zoo glows with carved pumpkins every night, and the first holiday markets of the season open in early November. If you have been waiting for the perfect weekend to get out, the next month is full of them.

This month we are putting a spotlight on Avon, one of Northeast Ohio's fastest-growing cities and a rising star of the Cleveland market. Just off I-90 in Lorain County, Avon has more than doubled its population since 2000 and now tops roughly 25,600 residents, with new-home communities like Nagel Farms, Fieldstone Landings, and Haven going up around strong schools, neighborhood parks, and a calendar full of community events. It is a wonderful example of the momentum we see across Greater Cleveland's suburbs.

At Glasshouse Realty, our agents live and work across Greater Dayton, Greater Cincinnati, and the Cleveland market. We know the streets where these events happen, the organizers behind them, and the local businesses that make each town distinct. Here are fifteen festivals and happenings worth putting on your calendar between now and the end of November.

Spotlight: Avon, Ohio

Avon has grown from a farm town into a city of more than 25,000 residents, and it keeps building. New neighborhoods like Nagel Farms, Fieldstone Landings, and the Haven townhomes line streets that did not exist two decades ago, while Avon's schools, parks, and recreation programs have grown right alongside them. Sitting about twenty miles west of downtown Cleveland off I-90 and minutes from the shops and restaurants of Crocker Park, it is easy to see why families keep choosing it.

The community calendar reflects that energy. Avon's official trick-or-treat night on October 31 turns its newest streets into one big neighborhood party, and farm country is right at the doorstep, with Mapleside Farms' Pumpkin Village about fifteen minutes away in Brunswick and pumpkin festivals scattered across Lorain and Medina counties. Between the new construction and the community spirit, Avon is a great example of what the difference is clear means: a place where people do not just buy homes, they build lives.
