How the cap works in practice:
Say you're on the 80/20 split. Your cap contributions accumulate from the brokerage share of each deal. Once your total contributions reach $15,000 in a calendar year, your split automatically jumps to 98/2 — and stays there for every deal the rest of the year. There's no reset mid-year, no ceiling on how much you can earn.
