Fall festival season is here across Ohio, and the coming weeks are packed with reasons to get out and explore. From a castle village that comes alive each weekend in Waynesville to a hometown popcorn celebration in Beavercreek, from a porch-music afternoon in Troy to pumpkins and pickles in Cincinnati and Cleveland, there is something for every kind of weekend.

Ohio Renaissance Festival
Waynesville · September 5 through November 1, 2026
One of the largest Renaissance fairs in the Midwest, the Ohio Renaissance Festival near Waynesville opens on Saturday, September 5 and runs every weekend (plus Labor Day) through Sunday, November 1. Set within a permanent sixteenth-century-style village along East State Route 73, it transports visitors with costumed performers, live jousting, artisans working in period shops, and food straight out of a medieval feast.
Each fall weekend carries its own theme, which makes every visit feel new. In the weeks ahead you can catch Fantasy Weekend (September 12-13), Pirates Weekend (September 19-20), Highland Weekend (September 26-27), and Viking Weekend (October 3-4), before the season closes with myths, monsters, heroes, and villains later in October. Kids 12 and under even get in free on the final weekend.
This one is especially close to our hearts: Glasshouse Realty has a billboard presence out at the festival grounds, so as you make your way to the gates you may just spot our sign along the way. It is a small sign of how connected our team is to this corner of Warren County, and a wonderful way to spend a fall day. For families, music lovers, and anyone with a taste for swordplay and turkey legs, it is essential Southwest Ohio.
Beavercreek Popcorn Festival
Beavercreek · September 12-13, 2026
Head to Beavercreek on the weekend after Labor Day for the city's signature celebration, the Beavercreek Popcorn Festival, along Dayton-Xenia Road near Shoup Park. It is often called the largest festival in Greene County and has been recognized as a top-100 event in North America, so it draws crowds from across the Miami Valley. Admission is free, and the festival is open Saturday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
With 200 to 300 vendor booths, you will find handmade crafts, festival foods, and of course plenty of popcorn specialties, including popcorn sculptures and even popcorn showers. There is a Kidz Area with inflatables and face painting, a beer garden, a Saturday 5K Popcorn Run, and a Sunday classic car show. It is a family-friendly weekend that captures the friendly, growing energy of a city that keeps drawing new neighbors.
Beavercreek is one of the most active housing markets in our region, with its mix of great schools, easy access to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and new construction filling out the edges of town. A festival like this is a wonderful chance to see why so many families choose to call it home.
Troy PorchFest
Troy · September 12, 2026
For a completely different kind of festival, wander Troy's Southwest Historic District on Saturday, September 12 for PorchFest, a free, family-friendly celebration where dozens of bands perform on porches and lawns throughout the neighborhood. Grab a lawn chair, follow the music from porch to porch, and enjoy food vendors, artists, and crafters along the way.
The hub is the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center at 301 West Main Street, and the music runs roughly from 10:30 AM until about 7:30 PM, with up to seven concerts starting each hour. It is a uniquely warm way to spend a Saturday, moving through one of the Miami Valley's most charming historic districts while neighbors open their homes and yards to the whole community.
Operation Pumpkin
Hamilton · October 9-11, 2026
Just north of Cincinnati, the historic downtown of Hamilton transforms for the 15th annual Operation Pumpkin festival, running Friday, October 9 through Sunday, October 11. Giant sculpted pumpkins and a pumpkin-carving competition take center stage, alongside live music and more than 100 food and gift vendors from around Southwest Ohio.
The festival runs Friday and Saturday from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Sunday brings the beloved Pet Parade and Costume Contest at noon. It is a lively, family-friendly way to celebrate the season, and a great excuse to spend a day in a downtown that has been steadily growing for years.
Cleveland Pickle Fest
Cleveland · October 3, 2026
Up in Northeast Ohio, downtown Cleveland hosts the Cleveland Pickle Fest on Saturday, October 3 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Mall C along Lakeside Avenue. It is a playful, pickle-themed food festival with treats, desserts, and drinks, including pickle beer, plus free samples from dozens of local and regional vendors and live music all day.
Beyond the briny fun, the festival doubles as a fundraiser that benefits Greater Cleveland Volunteers, so every pickle purchased helps a good cause. Add a Pickle Fest 5K and a dog pageant to the lineup, and you have a genuinely delightful way to spend a fall Saturday in the city.
Geauga County Apple Butter Festival & Ox Roast
Burton · October 10-11, 2026
For a taste of old-time Northeast Ohio, head to the Century Village Museum in Burton on October 10 and 11 for the Geauga County Apple Butter Festival and Ox Roast, open both days from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Visitors can watch and even help stir apple butter bubbling in copper kettles over open fires, then enjoy hot ox-roast sandwiches and apple fritters fresh from the grounds.
Beyond the food, you can tour the museum's historic village buildings, watch artisan demonstrations, and enjoy children's activities and live music. It is a genuinely traditional harvest gathering that connects you straight to Ohio's rural heritage, and a wonderful family outing as the leaves reach their peak.
