As we move from the peak of summer into the first hints of fall, communities across Southwest Ohio are pulling out all the stops with festivals, fairs, and gatherings that celebrate everything from local agriculture to global cuisine. National Night Out
Sidney · Tuesday, August 4, 2026
Sidney kicks off the month with National Night Out, a nationwide community-building campaign that brings neighbors and first responders together for an evening of connection and fun. This year's event takes place Tuesday, August 4, from 5:30 to 8:30 PM on the downtown Court Square, and it's completely free and open to the public.
The evening features free kids' activities from more than 20 local organizations, a dunk tank with Sidney's first responders, and activity booths staffed by the Sidney Police Department, Shelby County Sheriff's Office, and Sidney Fire Department. Food vendors include Kona Ice, Vic's Country Cookin', and What the Taco. It's the kind of event that strengthens the bonds between residents and the people who serve them — and it's a wonderful reminder of what makes a community feel like home.
Miami County Fair
Troy · August 14-20, 2026
The Miami County Fair is a seven-day celebration of agricultural heritage and community spirit in Troy. Held at the Miami County Fairgrounds (650 N. County Road 25A) from August 14 through 20, the fair features livestock shows, 4-H exhibits, amusement rides, a demolition derby, tractor pulls, and live entertainment all week long. Daily hours run from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM, with admission at $6 for ages 9 and up (children 8 and under are free).
The 2026 headline concert features country artist Emily Ann Roberts with special guest Ian Harrison on Sunday, August 16 at 7:00 PM at the Grandstands. But the fair's real draw is the full experience: wandering through the livestock barns, grabbing fair food from the vendors, and watching the carnival lights spin against the night sky. Troy is a community that takes its county fair seriously, and this week-long event is the culmination of months of hard work by 4-H members, farmers, and volunteers. It's a tradition that dates back to 1847, and it's still going strong.
Greater Dayton Lebanese Festival
Dayton · August 28-30, 2026
For three days at the end of August, the grounds of St. Ignatius of Antioch Church in Washington Township transform into a celebration of Lebanese culture at the 33rd Annual Greater Dayton Lebanese Festival. The festival runs Friday, August 28 (6:00-9:00 PM), Saturday, August 29 (11:00 AM-9:00 PM), and Sunday, August 30 (11:00 AM-6:00 PM) and features authentic Lebanese cuisine, cold beverages, traditional music and dancing, and children's rides.
The food alone is reason enough to attend — from freshly prepared tabbouleh and hummus to grilled kebabs, baklava, and other family recipes passed down through generations. The festival has been a Dayton-area staple for more than three decades, and it draws visitors from across the region who come for the flavors, the music, and the warm hospitality. Dayton's diversity is one of its greatest strengths, and events like this put that richness on full display. Whether you're of Lebanese heritage or just love good food and good company, this festival welcomes everyone to the table.
Clinton County Corn Festival
Wilmington · September 11-13, 2026
Wilmington's Clinton County Corn Festival is a beloved annual tradition that celebrates the region's agricultural roots. Held the weekend after Labor Day at the Clinton County Fairgrounds (958 W. Main Street), the festival runs Friday through Sunday, September 11-13, and admission is free. The festival is organized by the Antique Power Club of Clinton County and features antique tractor and engine displays, farm equipment demonstrations, craft vendors, local food, and live entertainment.
This year's festival is especially notable because it hosts the "Gathering of the Orange" National Allis Chalmers Show, welcoming collectors from across the country to display their vintage tractors. The corn festival captures the spirit of Clinton County's farming community in a way that's both educational and genuinely fun. Kids love the tractor rides and the hands-on exhibits, while adults appreciate the chance to step back in time and see equipment that shaped Ohio's agricultural history. Beavercreek Popcorn Festival

The Beavercreek Popcorn Festival is one of the area's most beloved community events, drawing thousands of visitors to Dayton-Xenia Road between North Fairfield Road and Meadow Bridge Drive. Scheduled for Saturday, September 12 (10:00 AM to 8:00 PM) and Sunday, September 13 (11:00 AM to 6:00 PM), the festival features more than 300 vendor booths offering crafts, food, community organizations, and of course — popcorn in every variety you can imagine.
In addition to the shopping and snacking, the festival includes a car show, a kids' zone with games and activities, live entertainment on multiple stages, and a festive atmosphere that makes it a perfect way to spend a late-summer weekend. The Popcorn Festival has become a cherished Beavercreek tradition, and it's one of those events where you run into neighbors, make new friends, and leave with a bag of kettle corn and a smile.
