Fall is in full swing across Ohio, and the weeks from late September through October are among the most event-filled of the year. From a medieval village that comes alive every weekend in Waynesville to a hometown street festival in fast-growing Mason, from America's biggest Oktoberfest in Cincinnati to a museum fundraiser in Dayton and an Oktoberfest on the shores of Lake Erie, there is something for every kind of weekend.
This month we are putting a spotlight on Mason, one of the most dynamic communities in our network. Ohio Renaissance Festival
Waynesville · Weekends through November 1, 2026
One of the largest Renaissance fairs in the Midwest, the Ohio Renaissance Festival near Waynesville is now in full swing and runs every weekend through Sunday, November 1. Set within a permanent sixteenth-century-style village along East State Route 73 in Warren County, it transports visitors with costumed performers, live jousting, artisans working in period shops, and food straight out of a medieval feast.
Each fall weekend carries its own theme, which makes every visit feel new. In the weeks ahead you can catch Pirates Weekend (September 19-20), Highland Weekend (September 26-27), Viking Weekend (October 3-4), Time Travelers Weekend (October 10-11), and Romance Weekend (October 17-18), before the season closes with Myths and Monsters (October 24-25) and Heroes and Villains (October 31 through November 1). Kids 12 and under even get in free on the final weekend.
This one is especially close to our hearts: Glasshouse Realty has a billboard presence out at the festival grounds, so as you make your way to the gates you may just spot our sign along the way. Mason's East Main Music Fest

The heart of our spotlight this month is Mason, and its signature October celebration is the East Main Music Fest, a free, volunteer-led street festival on Saturday, October 10 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. On East Main Street between Mason Montgomery Road and Dawson Street in downtown Mason, local artists and bands take over the street, paired with the neighborhood's beloved East Main eateries, food trucks, adult beverages, kids' activities, and displays from local businesses.
It is the kind of warm, walkable, family-friendly gathering that shows what makes Mason special: a big and growing city that still feels neighborly at its core. Come early, grab a bite from a local spot, and stay for the music. It is a lovely way to experience the downtown energy of one of the fastest-growing communities in the Cincinnati metro.
And if you are in Mason in the evenings, Kings Island's Halloween Haunt runs select nights from late September through October 31, adding haunted mazes and scare zones to the region's favorite amusement park, while the nearby Cincinnati Open grounds and top-ranked Mason City Schools round out the reasons families keep choosing this town.
Oktoberfest Zinzinnati

America's largest Oktoberfest returns to Cincinnati for its 50th anniversary, taking over Sawyer Point and Yeatman's Cove along the Ohio River from Thursday, September 17 through Sunday, September 20. For four days, the riverfront fills with Bavarian music, folk dancing, bratwurst, strudel, and plenty of steins, all against the backdrop of the Cincinnati skyline.
Expect the beloved running of the weiner dogs, the World's Largest Chicken Dance, a festive parade, and dozens of food and craft vendors celebrating five decades of one of Cincinnati's most cherished traditions. It is a can't-miss weekend just a short drive from the Mason area, and a perfect way to kick off the season.
BLINK Cincinnati
Cincinnati · October 8-11, 2026
For four free nights in October, downtown Cincinnati and the riverfront become a giant canvas of light, art, and projection mapping at BLINK, one of the largest light and art festivals in the country. Running Thursday, October 8 through Sunday, October 11, it spans more than 30 city blocks with larger-than-life installations, murals, and music that transform familiar streets into something magical.
The festival kicks off with an opening block party, and every evening brings a new way to see the city. Whether you walk the installations with family or catch the late-night glow after dinner, BLINK is a stunning, walkable way to experience Cincinnati's creative energy in the heart of fall.
Dayton Art Institute Oktoberfest
Dayton · September 25-27, 2026
A Dayton tradition since 1971, the Dayton Art Institute Oktoberfest returns Friday, September 25 through Sunday, September 27 on the museum's grounds. It is the museum's largest annual fundraiser and one of the Miami Valley's most beloved fall gatherings, with bratwurst and sauerkraut, craft beer, live music, family activities, and one of the region's best views from the museum's Great Hall.
The weekend opens with the Lederhosen Lunch and Preview Party on Friday, and continues with a full slate of entertainment and children's activities through Sunday. Set against the Art Institute's beautiful Italian Renaissance-style architecture, it is a wonderful blend of culture, community, and fall fun for all ages.
Ohio City Oktoberfest

In Cleveland's lively Ohio City neighborhood, Market Square Park hosts the Ohio City Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 3 from noon to 8:00 PM. Expect a full day of German food and drink, live music and polka, and plenty of family fun in one of the city's most walkable, food-loving districts.
It is a friendly, neighborhood-scale celebration in the shadow of the West Side Market, an easy pairing with a morning of shopping and a relaxed afternoon of music and local flavor. For anyone exploring Cleveland's growing west-side neighborhoods, it is a lovely way to spend an October Saturday.
Miami County Fall Farm Fest

Head to Lost Creek Reserve in Troy on Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11 for the 16th annual Miami County Fall Farm Fest, a celebration of the county's agricultural heritage set among the trees and trails of a county park. Visitors can take wagon rides, visit farm animals, try hands-on pioneer crafts, and enjoy the crisp colors of the season.
