What's Happening Around Xenia & Across Ohio: October 2026

PLATE 01, SMALL-TOWN OCTOBER ACROSS OHIO

October is here, and across Ohio it is one of the busiest months of the festival calendar. The Renaissance Festival near Waynesville is in the middle of its season, giant pumpkins are being rolled into fairgrounds from Geauga County to Butler County, and harvest fairs, farm markets, and Oktoberfests are filling the weekends. If you have been looking for a reason to get out and explore this fall, the next five weeks are full of them.

This month we are putting a spotlight on Xenia, one of Greater Dayton's fastest-growing communities. In the heart of Greene County, Xenia pairs a friendly, walkable downtown with new neighborhoods going up around it, farm country at its doorstep, and the Greene County Fairgrounds hosting events all year. Add an easy drive to the countryside of Waynesville and Spring Valley, and it is a wonderful example of the momentum we see across Southwest Ohio's smaller cities.

At Glasshouse Realty, our agents live and work across Greater Dayton, Greater Cincinnati, and the Cleveland market. We know the streets where these events happen, the organizers behind them, and the local businesses that make each town distinct. Here are twelve festivals and happenings worth putting on your calendar between now and the end of October.

Ohio Renaissance Festival

Waynesville · Weekends through November 1, 2026

One of the largest Renaissance festivals in the Midwest, the Ohio Renaissance Festival is in the peak of its 2026 season, running every weekend through Sunday, November 1. Its permanent sixteenth-century-style village along East State Route 73 in Warren County fills with costumed performers, live jousting, working artisan shops, and food that feels straight out of a medieval feast.

Every weekend brings a new theme, so each visit feels different. In the weeks ahead you can catch Viking Weekend (October 3-4), Time Travelers Weekend (October 10-11), Romance Weekend (October 17-18), Myths & Monsters (October 24-25), and the season-closing Heroes and Villains (October 31 through November 1), when kids 12 and under get in free. Gates open at 10:30 AM each day; adult tickets are $35, children 5 to 12 are $10, and parking is included.

This one is especially close to our hearts. Glasshouse Realty keeps a billboard presence along the roads around the festival grounds, so as you make your way to the gates you may just spot our sign. It is a small reflection of how connected our team is to this corner of Warren County, and it makes the drive even sweeter. For jousting fans, costume lovers, and anyone with a taste for turkey legs, it is essential Southwest Ohio.

The Great Ohio Toy Show fills the Greene County Fairgrounds & Expo Center from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with dealers selling vintage toys, model trains, die-cast cars, action figures, and plenty of new toys as well. It returns twice a year, and the fall edition is a favorite for collectors and families alike.

It is more than a shopping trip, though. With Greene County's historic towns at its doorstep, a visit to the Toy Show is a great excuse to see why Xenia keeps growing: friendly neighborhoods, new construction, and a downtown with real character. Bring the kids, hunt for a treasure, and spend the afternoon exploring this fast-growing corner of Greater Dayton.

Why We Share These Events

At Glasshouse Realty, we do not just serve these communities from a distance. Our offices and teams are in Dayton, Beavercreek, Centerville, Huber Heights, Kettering, Troy, Springfield, Waynesville, Wilmington, Sidney, the Cleveland market, and beyond, and our agents live in the same neighborhoods where these events are happening. When we share what is happening around town, we are sharing the places we will be spending our weekends, too.

That local connection is at the heart of everything we do. It is the difference between knowing a market and knowing a community, and it is what we mean when we say the difference is clear. From the castle village in Waynesville where you might spot our billboard, to fast-growing Xenia hosting a fairground full of toys, to giant pumpkins in Geauga County and a street full of carved gourds in Hamilton, these gatherings are a wonderful way to feel the character of each town firsthand.

So mark your calendar: catch a joust in Waynesville on any October weekend, hunt for vintage toys in Xenia on October 3, watch the planes roll through New Carlisle, pick pumpkins in Springboro, weigh a giant pumpkin in Geauga County, press cider at Hale Farm, and finish the month with kraut in Waynesville, a stein in Lebanon, and giant carved pumpkins in Hamilton. These October weeks across Ohio are something special, and these twelve events are only the beginning.

And if you are curious what it is like to live in any of these communities, the neighborhoods, the schools, the daily rhythm, we would love to talk. That is what we are here for. Reach out anytime, and we will connect you with someone who knows your community from the inside out.

The Bottom Line

From the Ohio Renaissance Festival in Waynesville to a fairground full of vintage toys in Xenia, from the planes of Heritage of Flight and the farm festivals of the Miami Valley to Operation Pumpkin in Hamilton, the Lebanon Oktoberfest, and harvest weekends across Northeast Ohio, October is full of reasons to explore the communities that make up the Glasshouse Realty network. Each event tells you something about the town that hosts it, and together they paint a picture of a region where community still matters. If you are thinking about making one of these places home, we would love to help you find the right fit. The Difference is Clear.
